PETALING JAYA: Health director-general Datuk Seri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah is urging all frontline healthcare workers to stay strong in the fight against the Covid-19 outbreak in the country.

“To all the frontline healthcare workers, please stay strong and stay safe.

"We have to shoulder the responsibility in fighting the invisible Covid-19; more importantly, we are the last frontier of defence and our country depends on us.

“As to whether we succeed or not, it’s up to us now to take the lead and do our best for King and country, ” he said on his Facebook page on Wednesday (March 25).

Dr Hisham also urged the public to do its part in helping to overcome the outbreak.

“Please stay at home and help us break the chain of Covid-19 transmission, practise social distancing and frequent hand-washing, ” he said.

He added that the ministry would continue its strategy of “active case detection”.

Dr Hisham said the health authorities would “find, test, isolate and treat” all infected patients and take all the necessary public health measures, as well as to enhance the country’s existing healthcare system.”

“Let’s do this together for our nation, ” he said.
