Top leaders from PKR, DAP, Amanah arrive for special meeting at PKR HQ

PETALING JAYA: Several top leaders from PKR, DAP, and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) have arrived for a special meeting at PKR’s headquarters in Merchant Square here on Tuesday (Feb 25).

Among them were DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang, secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, Anthony Loke, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu, vice-presidents Datuk Seri Mujahid Yusof Rawa, Husam Musa, deputy president Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, and Khalid Samad, as well as PKR strategic communications director Fahmi Fadzil and Sim Tze Tzin.

All of the leaders, however, kept mum regarding the agenda of the special meeting, which was called prior to a Pakatan Harapan emergency presidential council meeting that is scheduled to take place at Merchant Square later on Tuesday night.

The special meeting at PKR’s headquarters at 5pm came following Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s meeting with leaders of political parties at his office, which included Lim.

Lim, when asked by reporters regarding his meeting with Dr Mahathir, merely said “we discussed”.

He also remained vague about the agenda of the special meeting on Tuesday, merely saying that discussions that set to take place focuses “about tomorrow”.

The flurry of activity over a possible realignment of the country’s political landscape continued after several high-profile meetings of politicians from both sides of the political divide on Sunday (Feb 24).
