MELAKA: A Melaka executive councillor (exco) has objected to the reintroduction of teaching Science and Mathematics in English (PPSMI), citing students’ poor performance and teachers’ lack of competency in the language as his reasons.
Instead, Melaka Public Works, Transportation and Public Utilities Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Sofi Abdul Wahab (pic) said that English should be made a compulsory pass subject in school at secondary level before PPSMI is to be reintroduced.
