Saddiq: I left event to avoid confrontation

KUALA LUMPUR: Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman says he left the Johor Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia youth wing gathering at Ulu Tiram on Friday night by climbing over a fence during the commotion after being advised by the organisers and police to avoid confrontation with a rowdy group of gatecrashers.

He said the group had turned up at the event uninvited and refused to leave when told do so.
