Bukit Aman to summon politicians

SHAH ALAM: Politicians are among a few more witnesses that Bukit Aman will be calling in connection with the investigation into alleged sexual misconduct involving Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Huzir Mohamed said police had already taken the statements of eight witnesses so far.

“Once the investigation is completed, we will forward the matter to the Attorney General’s Chambers, ” he told a press conference at the Selangor police headquarters.

Asked on the willingness of Anwar’s accuser Muhammad Yusoff Rawther to be subjected to polygraph testing, Comm Huzir said police would see whether the investigation required such action to be taken.

On another matter, Comm Huzir said police were looking for nine more witnesses in connection with the investigation into the death of fireman Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim.

“The nine men were bystanders on the night Adib got hurt. We are looking for them as it is pertinent to our investigation. We have recorded the statements of 31 people so far.

“The police CSI team will also construct a 3D rendition of the incident during the course of the investigation. We also seek experts’ report regarding the post-mortem of Adib from the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC). We are waiting for MMC’s reply, ” Comm Huzir said.

The Coroner’s Court had ruled that Muhammad Adib’s death was caused by two or more persons unknown.

Meanwhile, on investigation into an event to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Hat Yai Peace Accord by Persatuan Persahabatan Abad ke-21 in Kajang recently, Comm Huzir said police were investigating the case under Section 505(C) of the Penal Code and Section233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

“We have recorded the statements of 14 witnesses and we will be calling up more people.

“A total of 114 police reports have been made in connection with the case, ” he said yesterday
