Sprinter Mohd Haiqal wins 100m gold

MANILA: National sprinter Mohd Haiqal Hanafi has won gold in the men's 100m final at the New Clark City Athletics Stadium here.

Haiqal finished with a time of 10.35 seconds to come in first ahead of Thailand's Sowan Ruttanapon and Bandit Chuangchai who clocked at 10.49 and 10.52 respectively.

"I can't believe this has happened it's an amazing feeling and this one is for all Malaysians," said Haiqal.

The Malaysian contingent has won a total of 40 golds at the games so far.
