PETALING JAYA: MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong (pic) has chided Parti Amanah Negara president Mohamad Sabu for claiming that the rakyat are unaware of Pakatan Harapan's success in fulfilling its election manifesto.
"The Amanah president, who is also Pakatan Defence Minister, said the manifesto has been fulfilled. But the rakyat doesn't know.
"Are Malaysians unaware? The rakyat don't watch TV? Is there no social media?" he said in a Facebook post on Sunday. (Dec 8).
His post was also linked to an online report of a conference by Mohamad Sabu over the issue on the sidelines of Amanah's annual general assembly on Saturday. (Dec 7).
Dr Wee also questioned if the current lack awareness over Pakatan's success is due to a failure by the Information Department – under the Communications and Multimedia Ministry – in disseminating information to the rakyat.
He challenged Mohamad Sabu to state each and every manifesto promise which had been fulfilled by Pakatan.
"Brother Mat (Mohamad Sabu), has highway toll been abolished?
"Has petrol subsidy been given? No need to repay PTPTN loans anymore? Lynas plant already shut down?
"Is it true that Pakatan has fulfilled all its promises under its manifesto, of which the rakyat are unaware of?" he questioned.
Dr Wee's Facebook post came a day after several Amanah delegates called for the removal of Gobind Singh Deo as Communications and Multimedia Minister following claims that he was not doing enough to promote the government's success.
