Audio clip of DAP leader criticising Paul Yong for resuming duties goes viral

IPOH: An audio clip of a DAP leader condemning state executive council member Paul Yong Choo Kiong’s decision to resume his official duties has gone viral.

In the 19-second clip in Mandarin, it is believed that the state party leader had made the comments during a recent speech at the Perak DAP councillors retreat held at a hotel here.

"Dressed in DAP’s clothing, getting DAP’s salary, but he considers himself a great person, and now announcing that he has returned to work without the party’s permission.

“I don’t want to say who he is, but I am sure everyone knows who I meant,” the person could be heard saying.

On Friday (Nov 15), during the first day of the assembly sitting, Yong resumed his official duties, despite stating in August that he was taking leave to concentrate on the rape case against him

Yong said the decision was made after discussions with Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.

On Aug 23 this year, Yong pleaded not guilty to a charge of raping a maid at a house in Meru Desa Park between 8.15pm and 9.15pm on July 7.
