All schools in PD closed as haze hits very unhealthy levels

SEREMBAN: All schools in Port Dickson have been ordered to close on Tuesday after the Air Pollutant index hit very unhealthy level.

State education, entrepreneurship, industrialisation, investment and human capital committee chairman Dr Mohamad Rafie Abd Malek said the API reading in the district at 6am was 203.

There are 50 primary and 15 secondary schools in Port Dickson.

"We have asked the schools to close due to this.

"Teachers would still be required to attend but they should take precautionary measures which include donning a mask," he said in a statement.

He added that the state education department would continue to monitor the haze situation and provide updates from time to time.
