PUTRAJAYA: Prof Dr Siti Zainon Ismail (pic) has been selected as the 14th National Laureate. Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik said Prof Siti Zainon was chosen because of her contributions through her creative works and insights, the development of literature, her impact in spreading knowledge and leadership in literary societies.
“Her impact on national and international scene as well as all her recognitions were taken into consideration.
“The award is given to laureates for their successful and consistent contribution to Bahasa Malaysia literature, ” he announced during a press conference at his ministry.
