Police doubling efforts to locate Indira Gandhi's daughter and ex-husband, says IGP

KUALA LUMPUR: The police are doubling their efforts to track down Indira Gandhi's daughter and ex-husband, says Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador (pic).

The Inspector-General of Police said he was taking a personal interest in the matter.

"I want to see a happy ending, as it has gone on long enough.

"It touches the heart of all Malaysians, irrespective of race or religion and we want to see mother and daughter reunited, " he told a press conference after launching the "Autism: Police Standard Operating Procedures" roadshow on Monday (July 29).

Asked if Indira's ex-husband and daughter were being hidden by followers of Dr Zakir Naik, Abdul Hamid said there were no credible leads that this was so.

"The sooner we find the daughter and ex-husband, the better, " he said.
