Lokman summoned by Bukit Aman over allegations against IGP

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno supreme council member Datuk Lokman Noor Adam has been summoned by Bukit Aman to have his statement recorded.

This comes following allegations he made against the Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador pertaining to the latter's handling of the investigation into the sex video implicating Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali.

Lokman, who arrived at the federal police headquarters at 10.15am on Friday (July 26), was seen carrying a red luggage bag in anticipation of his possible detention.

“I still stand by my earlier statement that the IGP had lied on several aspects of the case.

“We will see how long they will arrest me for,” he told reporters outside Bukit Aman.

He alleged that it was unacceptable that Azmin has not been detained so far in the course of the investigation following a detailed analysis of the video by CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM).

Lokman also called on the IGP to resign from the post, claiming that he had lied about the investigation.

On July 18, Abdul Hamid said CSM had determined that the video was likely authentic but it could not conclusively identify the men involved through facial recognition software.

The IGP said a police report had been lodged against Lokman and he would let his men investigate it.

“I would like to state again that, as the IGP, I wouldn’t like to be involved in any political polemic, except if someone accused me (without basis),” Abdul Hamid added, in an apparent reference to allegations by Lokman that the police chief had lied about the authenticity of the video.
