Two men acquitted of 2016 Setapak murder of moneylender

KUALA LUMPUR: Two men escaped the gallows after the High Court acquitted them of the murder of a moneylender who was gunned down in broad daylight in Setapak almost three years ago.

Justice Sofian Abd Razak ruled that the prosecution had failed to prove a prima facie case against 27-year-old K. Ram Kumar and 46-year-old D. Manivannan at the end of the prosecution's stage of the trial.
