Marine police step up efforts to combat blast fishing


SANDAKAN: In an effort to stop the long-standing problem of fish bombing, marine police are aggressively mobilising their assets for increased patrols as well as to inspect markets to stop the selling of fish caught using this method.

Marine Police Region 4 commander Asst Comm Mohamad Pajeri Ali said a three-day special operation was conducted to intercept and inspect boats in Sandakan waters from Thursday (July 11) to Saturday (July 13).
