Cops bust gang of vending machine thieves with arrest of four men

Under arrest: Canadian police have arrested two men and are seeking two others for exporting controlled goods and technologies intended for space satellite use to China in violation of export and defense laws.

SUNGAI BULOH (Bernama): The police have busted the "Gedegang Gang" behind the thefts of vending machines with the arrest of four men recently.

District police chief Supt Shafa'aton Abu Bakar said the men aged between 23 and 29 were picked up during three raids in Cheras, Rawang and Sungai Buloh between April 30 and May 8.

She said the police seized a car, a drilling machine and six vending machines. 

"The gang has been active in the Klang Valley since November last year by stealing vending machines and selling them in Selangor, Melaka and Perak for RM3,000 to RM4,000 according to the types and sizes via Facebook.

"The original price of a vending machine can reach up to RM20,000,” she told a press conference here Friday (May 17).

Supt Shafa'aton said that with the capture of the men, the police were able to solve 10 robberies in the Klang Valley.

She said two of the suspects had previous records related to drugs and theft. - Bernama
