University student dies after being run over by bus in Sentul

PETALING JAYA: A 19-year-old university student died after she was run over by a bus on Jalan Kampung Bandar Dalam, Sentul.

In the 12.50pm Wednesday (April 10) accident, the victim, Nur Alia Abdul Razak, was riding her motorcycle from Jalan Sentul to Jalan Gombak when she tried to overtake a car.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) chief Asst Comm Zulkefly Yahya said she lost control of her motorcycle when doing so.

"She fell onto the opposite lane in front of an oncoming bus. She was killed at the scene," he said when contacted on Wednesday.

He added that the road was dry and weather conditions clear at the time of the accident.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving and causing death.
