Local council elections are called the 'third vote' after elections for federal and state governments.

SEREMBAN: The Rantau by-election on April 13 may not see a straight fight between Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan after a Parti Amanah Negara member indicated his desire to contest as an independent despite the threat of expulsion.

Tandiko Dalusin, who is from Rasah Amanah, said he would make an announcement in the next few days.
