Amanah Youth calls on cops to investigate Nik Abduh’s CIA connections

KUALA LUMPUR:  Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) Youth has urged police to investigate links between Bachok MP Nik Abduh Nik Aziz (pic) and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States.

“We lodged a police report against Nik Abduh and requested that they investigate the content of the audio recording where he allegedly admitted that he has close relations with CIA agents,” said its vice-chief Mohd Shazni Munir Mohd Ithnin.

“If what he said is true, it is a serious matter as we are an independent nation,” Mohd Shazni Munir said, adding that this could affect the nation’s sovereignty.

He said this to reporters at Wang Dangi police headquarters here on Thursday (Feb 14).

In the police report lodged on Thursday, Amanah Youth alleged that in the recording, Nik Abduh said, "Ana boleh bercakap dengan CIA Amerika tu, yang sentiasa berhubung dengan ana (I can talk to that American CIA, who always contacts me)".

The police report was made after Nik Abduh admitted it was indeed his voice in the leaked audio recording that went viral in early 2018.

Mohd Shazni Munir said if it was proven that Nik Abduh was closely linked to CIA agents, the police should investigate the identity of the agents and what information Nik Abduh had shared with them.

Amanah Youth chief Mohd Sany Hamzan said besides investigating the part of the audio recording where PAS allegedly took money from Umno, the police should investigate the close links with CIA, too.

He also questioned the need for Nik Abduh to have a close relationship with the CIA.

“What is the need for him to be close to the CIA until it was said he knew the whereabouts of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, his programmes or Jokowi’s (Indonesian president Joko Widodo). This has caused anxiety among the people,” Mohd Sany said.

Earlier, Nik Abduh claimed that PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang had given his “blessings” for him to deny that it was his voice on the recording alleging that PAS had received RM90mil from Umno.
