My British degree is legitimate, says Najib

PUTRAJAYA: Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak (pic) has dispelled rumours concerning his degree from Nottingham University in Britain.

Press members ran after Najib to ask him about his academic qualifications as he left the Court of Appeal here yesterday.

“Of course, my degree is legitimate,” Najib said with a shrug.

Najib had earlier appeared before the Court of Appeal to seek a stay on his SRC International trial which was supposed to commence today.

The Court of Appeal granted the stay.

Yesterday, DAP’s Keranji assemblyman Chong Zhemin had said that MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong should question Najib about his degree as part of his checks on Pakatan Harapan leaders’ qualifications.

Chong had highlighted a video circulating online alleging that Najib never completed his studies at the university in the 1970s.

He also challenged Najib to publish the transcripts of his examinations and a copy of his degree to refute the allegation.
