Reward for capture of Jho Low?

Located in the coveted Bird Streets on a pie-shaped promontory known as the Crown, the 1.2-acre complex was famously owned by Jho Low.

SHAH ALAM: Bukit Aman has not ruled out the possibility of certain parties offering a monetary reward or bounty for information that leads to the capture of elusive fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho, said Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun.

The Inspector-General of Police said such efforts would assist the police in detaining Low, better known as Jho Low.

“Our ultimate goal is to arrest him (Jho Low).

“Maybe the reward will be an incentive for people to come forward with pertinent information, thus hastening the process to track him down,” he told a press conference after witnessing the handing over ceremony for the Selangor police chief’s post, with Comm Datuk Noor Azam Jamaludin taking over as the CPO from outgoing chief Comm Datuk Mazlan Mansor.

The police will not get in the way of efforts of certain parties in offering such bounty, he added.

Asked whether the police will offer such a reward, Mohamad Fuzi said Bukit Aman will consider it if there is a need.

The IGP was commenting on suggestions calling for a bounty for information that leads to Jho Low’s arrest.

Recently, Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng urged Umno and Barisan Nasional component parties to offer monetary rewards to locate Jho Low.

Lim had said Barisan should offer help to locate the mastermind behind the 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal since former premier Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is adamant that he is innocent.
