Mohamad Hasan: Camerons win first step to retaking Putrajaya

SEREMBAN: Barisan Nasional's victory in the Cameron Highlands by-election is its first step towards reclaiming Putrajaya, says Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.

He said the win was not only important but one that was sweet as it reflected the gratitude of the electorate who still remembered the good Barisan did for them previously.

"To Pakatan Harapan, the win in Cameron Highland's is the start of Barisan's revival.

"And we are not going to stop till we wrest Putrajaya, Insha Allah," he said.

He thanked voters in the constituency for not abandoning Barisan although it was no longer in power.

"I thank you for your confidence in us.  We will forever be grateful to you for supporting our cause for a better Malaysia," he said.

Mohamad said Barisan and PAS would continue to collaborate for the benefit of the people.

"Although we do not have a formal alliance or cooperation, both parties want the best for Malaysia.  We will also continue to work together for Malay and Muslim unity," he said.

Mohamad said voters in Cameron Highlands have also proven that they were not going to be easily intimidated through insults and threats.

"This is a very important lesson for us. Voters there, especially the Malays and Orang Asli, are not going to give in to threats.

"They will continue to be with Barisan as they remember our good deeds, however little there may be," he added
