KUANTAN: There will be no state holiday declared in conjunction with the proclamation of the new Sultan of Pahang on Tuesday (Jan 15), says state secretary Datuk Seri Dr Sallehuddin Ishak.
During the announcement of Sultan Abdullah Ibni Sultan Ahmad Shah's accession last Saturday, Tengku Muda Pahang Tengku Abdul Rahman was asked whether a state holiday would be declared to mark the proclamation.
He had said that the suggestion would be forwarded to the state secretary.
Sultan Abdullah will be proclaimed the sixth modern Sultan of Pahang in a ceremony at Istana Abu Bakar, Pekan, at 11am Tuesday.
