CAMERON HIGHLANDS: The Cameron Highlands by-election is the best opportunity for voters to show their displeasure at the Pakatan Harapan government for not fulfilling its election manifesto.
MCA vice-president Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker (pic) said Pakatan cheated the people by not keeping their promises and instead did something not mentioned in their manifesto.
“Pakatan did not make good on its promise to abolish the toll and recognise the United Examination Certificate.
“Pakatan has not delivered since becoming the federal government and instead gives priority to other things like a third national car plan.
“A lot of people already voiced their concern about it becoming a burden and having to pay a high price for it,” he said here.
Ti, who is also MCA by-election committee chairman, said one DAP minister also failed to make good on his promise of a non-racial approach by singling out Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman and Tunku Abdul Rahman University College over the matching grant issue.
He urged Cameron Highlands voters to pick Barisan Nasional candidate Ramli Mohd Noor to be the first ever elected orang asli Member of Parliament.
“Ramli is someone with integrity and highly qualified to become a people’s representative,” he said, adding that choosing Ramli goes to show that Barisan was able to look beyond the interests of its coalition parties.
“MIC was willing to give up the seat where they used to contest while Umno chose someone who is not from the party.
