Student jumps off fourth floor of school building in Alor Setar

ALOR SETAR: A female student sustained serious head injury and fractured one of her legs when she allegedly jumped from the fourth floor of her school building here.

The incident was believed to have occurred at about 6.50am on Monday (Jan 7).

A chair was found near the place where she jumped.

Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital emergency unit said it was alerted of the incident at about 6.55am.

The victim, said to be 17 years old, was rushed to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital by ambulance as medical officers found her still breathing.

Police officers from Kota Setar District Police Headquarters were at the scene to carry out investigation.
