GEORGE TOWN: Limiting the Penang Chief Minister's post to two terms is retrospective, says Chow Kon Yeow.

Chow said he would not be the Chief Minister at the end of the second term.

He pointed out that former Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng will not be the chief minister again.

"I will not be the Chief Minister after the next election and Lim Guan Eng under new state constitution limiting the post to two terms," said Chow at the DAP state convention here on Sunday.

The Penang constitution was amended at the state assembly on Friday (Nov 16), limiting the Chief Minister's post to two terms, the first state to do so.

While there was no mention of the amendment to be retrospective, Chow's statement clears the air that it would be so.

Lim was also at the assembly to vote for the amendment and opened the state convention today.
