Focus on people, stop squabbling, Anwar urges PKR leadership

KOTA BHARU: PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reminded leadership at all levels not to be complacent and waste time with trivial disputes, but instead focus on their responsibilities to the people.

Speaking at the Kelantan Keadilan Mini Convention 2026 here on Saturday (April 18), he also called on the party machinery to close ranks and prepare to face the challenges of the upcoming election.

"We have to prepare from now to face the general election. Effort and work must go hand in hand instead of arguing over trivial matters and don't think about problems because they will not be solved," he said.

He openly criticised the attitude of a few party leaders who were seen as only enthusiastic and loud when campaigning for office, but turned lazy in carrying out their duties or were lazy in attending meetings after winning.

"Anyone who feels tired, let me know, just ask for leave. This party is not just anyone's party. This party is the people's, the rights of those who want to work and fight for the people's fate," he said.

Meanwhile, Anwar said allocations would be channelled based on the performance of branches, with priority given to branches that are active and have successfully increased membership.

"We will not give allocations to branches that do not increase members or have no activities,” he stressed.- Bernama
