I will accept it if I am defeated, says Rafizi

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli (pic) says he will accept it if he is fated to be just an ordinary party member once the Central Executive Council election results is announced at the close of the PKR National Congress.

Rafizi said if he failed to be ahead of his competitor Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali in the fight for the deputy president post, he would remain loyal to fight for 'justice' under the leadership of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

"I was informed that unofficially I am just behind Mohamed Azmin by 2,500 votes which is less than 2 percent of the total votes (about 141,000 party members).

"I think Mohamed Azmin will be announced deputy president with a popular vote of not more than 51 percent compared to my 49 percent," he wrote on his official blog on Friday (Nov 16) night.

He also expressed gratitude to the tens of thousands of supporters who had sacrificed their time, money and efforts up to this stage.

"I do not have the position and money to reward you yet you all remained loyal serving as volunteers. I cherish the friendship and your solidarity which are invaluable. To all my brothers and sisters, I am greatly indebted to you for all you have done," he said. - Bernama
