PORT DICKSON: Independent candidate Tan Sri Isa Samad (pic) appeared gracious in his defeat, saying that he was still proud that he won all nine elections he contested in the past.
The former Negri Sembilan mentri besar, said: “This is one loss against nine victories. So, I have actually done well.”
Asked if he would give up politics, Isa said he had not given it a thought.
“I have been in PD for the longest time and in politics for 40 years.
“So I really can’t tell what the future holds,” he said.
Isa, 69, was the only candidate for the Port Dickson by-election who cast his vote yesterday.
Bernama reported that he did so at SK Linggi here at 11.15am yesterday, accompanied by his four children, Mohd Najib, 40, Megawati, 37, Lelawati, 34 and Juhaida, 29.
His children voted at at the Linggi Community-Based Cahaya Insan Rehabilitation Centre, SK Kampung Baru and SK Port Dickson.
