PETALING JAYA: The allegations of sexual abuse against house officers (doctors) by a department head at a Klang Valley hospital are "very serious", said Hannah Yeoh.

The Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister said that she has received an e-mail detailing the allegations from one of the house officers on Sunday (July 29).

"I have read the email and the allegations are very serious," Yeoh said when contacted, adding that she will discuss the allegations with Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and Health Minister Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.

"A thorough investigation has to be done urgently," she added.
