Fishermen’s allowances will remain, Salahuddin assures

KUALA LUMPUR: The monthly allowances for fishermen nationwide implemented since 2008 will remain, said Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Minister Salahuddin Ayub (pic).

Salahuddin was responding to a remark by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who was quoted as saying by business portal Investvine on July 5 that the Government could not afford to pay the allowances.
