Loke: Accountant proposed for PKFZ chairman post

KLANG: The new Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) chairman will not be a politician, said Transport Minster Anthony Loke (pic).

He said this is in line with the Pakatan Harapan government's stand of appointing only professionals to head
government-linked companies.

"We have proposed an accountant for the position," Loke told a press conference after a meeting with management of the Port Klang Authority (PKA) on Thursday.

However, he said it would be acceptable to appoint politicians as chairman and board members of PKA given that it was a statutory body and not a company like PKFZ.
