IGP: Musa will return soon

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Sabah chief minister Tan Sri Musa Aman is expected to return to Malaysia soon, said the Inspector-General of Police.

Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said Bukit Aman has already alerted several authorities, including those in Britain that Musa was wanted by police.

"However, I am confident he will be back soon.

"I don't see the need to send a team to track him down," he told a press conference after launching Bukit Aman's Blood Donation Drive on Wednesday (July 11).

If necessary, further action will be taken against Musa once he is back, added the IGP.

The police had previously requested Interpol to issue a Red Notice to locate and track down Musa, who is currently in Britain.

On June 26, Musa said that he was in Britain to receive medical treatment and to attend to personal matters. He claimed he had left Malaysia on May 16.

Musa is being sought by the police over an alleged criminal intimidation report lodged against him by Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin, as well as by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission for a graft probe.
