BUKIT MERTAJAM: All Pakatan Harapan elected representatives should honour their commitment to the people or risk being booted out in the next general election, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The PKR leader said lawmakers must realise their actions will be judged by voters who are now more aware of their rights.
“That change is phenomenal and systemic, which means now we will see a freer media, a freer society which is more critical.
“Unlike the previous regime, everything was controlled. Now, everything is in the open.
“So we are being closely monitored and our performances will be assessed by the rakyat.
“That’s why I’m cautioning them. We have to honour our commitment,” Anwar told reporters at a Majlis Iftar Perdana event at Yayasan An-Nahdhoh in Kubang Semang, Permatang Pauh.
Anwar thanked voters here for supporting Pakatan.
“The support is stronger and more cohesive. But my message is now that we have won, there is no need to attack our opponents,” he said.
