Tabung Haji confirms Abdul Azeez resignation as chairman


PETALING JAYA: Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) has confirmed that Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim has resigned as its chairman.

A statement issued by the TH Group Public Affairs and Corporate Communications Division on Thursday (May 24) confirmed that Abdul Azeez had quit.

On Wednesday (May 23), Abdul Azeez said he had submitted his resignation letter to the fund's legal department on May 14.

Abdul Azeez, who was also previously Minister in the former Prime Minister's Department said he respected the new Government's decision that no politician should hold any positions in government-linked companies, including TH.

The statement added that Abdul Azeez was appointed as a member of the TH Board in 2011 and made its chairman on July 1, 2013.

It also said that the TH Board had expressed its gratitude to Abdul Azeez for his services as a member and its chairman.
