Perak state exco sworn in

KUALA KANGSAR: The Perak state executive councillors have been sworn in at Istana Iskandariah here.

Ten Pakatan Harapan state assemblymen took their oaths before Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah on Saturday (May 19).

As reported earlier, the allocation for the excos was five for DAP, three for Parti Amanah Negara and two for PKR.

Ahmad Faizal Azumu was sworn last Saturday (May 12) as Perak Mentri Besar. He is the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia chairman and also Perak Pakatan chairman.

During the May 9 general election, DAP won 18 seats, followed by Amanah with six, PKR four and Pribumi one.

From DAP, the assemblymen included Abdul Aziz Bari (Tebing Tinggi), Wong May Ing (Pantai Remis), A. Sivanesan (Sungkai), Paul Yong Choo Kiong (Tronoh) and Howard Lee Chuan How (Pasir Pinji).

From Amanah, these included Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin (Sungai Rapat), Asmuni Awi (Manjoi) and Hasnul Zulkarnain Abd Munaim (Titi Serong).

The remaining two spots are Tan Kar Hing (Simpang Pulai) and Abdul Yunus Jamhari (Kuala Kurau) from PKR.

Hasnul Zulkarnain was the surprise name among the 10 state assemblymen, replacing Kamunting assemblyman Muhd Fadhil Nuruddin, who had been earlier reported to be among those to be sworn in.
