Wan Rosdy sworn in as Pahang MB

PEKAN: In a surprising turn of events, Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail (pic) has been sworn in as the Pahang Mentri Besar.

The Jelai assemblyman received his letter of appointment and was sworn in before the Regent of Pahang Tengku Mahkota Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah in a ceremony held at Istana Abu Bakar here on Tuesday.

Wan Rosdy, 60, replaced Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob, who had served four terms as Mentri Besar.

Wan Rosdy had previously served as the state Housing and Municipality Committee chairman.

The choice of Mentri Besar came as a surprise as Adnan was widely expected to resume his duties for another term.

Also sworn in were eight state executive council members.

They are Datuk Seri Mohd Sharkar Shamsudin, Datuk Seri Shahaniza Shamsuddin, Datuk Seri Syed Ibrahim Syed Ahmad, Datuk Seri Norolazali Sulaiman, Datuk Seri Mohd Johari Hussain, Datuk Nazri Ngah, Abd Rahim Muda and Datuk Mohammad Fakhruddin Mohd Ariff.
