PAS questions why Dr Mahathir wants to visit Nik Aziz's grave

KOTA BARU: PAS has questioned Pakatan Harapan chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's (pic) intentions in wanting to visit the late Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat's grave.

Kelantan PAS secretary Datuk Che Abdullah Mat Nawi asked why Dr Mahathir wanted to visit the grave of the late PAS spiritual leader when Mahathir criticised him when he was alive.

"We want to ask him why he wants to visit Tok Guru now after so many years. Mahathir was never a fan or a follower of Tok Guru.

"If he feels guilty, he should not come to the grave but apologise to the family members who are still alive," Che Abdullah said in a press conference at the PAS liaison building on Monday.

Nik Abdul Aziz's third son, Nik Adli, 51, barred outsiders from visiting his father's grave.

Nik Adli asked the cemetery management to lock the gates to his father’s grave and even managed to get a three-tonne lorry parked in front of the Pulau Melaka Muslim cemetery, blocking anyone from going in.

Dr Mahathir was scheduled to visit Nik Abdul Aziz's grave while campaigning in Kelantan but cancelled the visit at the last minute.

"I think Dr Mahathir's act is unreasonable and he should not do such things just for political mileage," Che Abdullah said.
