KUALA LUMPUR: Three women have been detained for allegedly taking down a political party's flags.
The trio – two aged 31 and another aged 37 – were arrested in Taman Tun Dr Ismail on Tuesday (April 17) night.
It is learnt that the suspects had used scissors to cut down Barisan Nasional flags at the residential area.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim confirmed the arrests.
"We are still investigating the incident. We aim to get to the bottom of the matter as soon as possible.
"The case is classified under Section 427 of the Penal Code for causing mischief," he said on Wednesday (April 18).
It is believed that the suspects were brought to the Jinjang Central Lockup following their arrests.
