Najib: Time for Kuantan to return to BN

KUANTAN: It is time for the Kuantan parliamentary seat to return to Barisan Nasional, says Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak (pic).

The Barisan chairman said the coalition must not once again lose the battle for the seat, currently held by PKR's Fuziah Salleh.

"We have lost twice and that is enough. There must not be a third time," Najib who is also Prime Minister said at the launch of the Kuantan Barisan election machinery here on Saturday.

Najib claimed that the Opposition had been spinning lies to make the people of Kuantan hate the Government.

He said there was no truth to a claim that the country's sovereignty had been sold with the opening of the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park and it no longer belonged to the country.

"That is a lie because we have a majority of shares in it and also shares in its counterpart in Qinzhou," he said.

In a thinly veiled reference to Pakatan Harapan prime-minister elect Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Najb also raised doubts if a 93-year-old could lead the country.

"It's not that I am dismissing him because of his age but can he still handle the burden that comes with the job?

"A prime minister has to attend five to six programmes a day. He just can't come out of his house once in a while," he said.

Also present were Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob, MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai as well as state and division Barisan chiefs.
