KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and Nuemera (M) Sdn Bhd have filed applications to strike out a suit brought by PKR communications chief Fahmi Fadzil against them for allegedly leaking his personal information.
Fahmi’s lawyer Louis Liaw said MCMC filed the application to strike out the suit on the grounds it has immunity under Section 272 of the Communications and Multimedia Act, while Nuemera said that Fahmi had no locus standi to sue the company.
