KOTA KINABALU: The death of Sabah state minister Datuk Siringan Gubat has come as a shock to Datuk Seri Madius Tangau, who last spoke to him over the phone only hours earlier.

The Upko party acting president recounted, "I was on the line with him before lunch time Tuesday (March 20). I asked him how he was doing and about his health. He told me everything was fine.
