KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has given his assurance that he will not allow business contracts and projects with China to be cancelled.
The Prime Minister said opposition leaders had said that if they take over the government, they will cancel all the contracts with China.
"We cannot allow that to happen," Najib said during the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia's (Huazong) Chinese New Year celebration on Saturday, adding that the country's relationship with China would be further strengthened under his leadership.
Pakatan Harapan chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was reported to have said last year that the opposition coalition would review several mega projects which they deemed unnecessary if it takes over Putrajaya in the 14th general election.
Also present at the Chinese New Year event on Saturday at Wisma Huazong in Seri Kembangan were Najib's wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, MCA president Liow Tiong Lai, vice president Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong and Gerakan president Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong.Already a subscriber? Log in
