Man who gave Proton Saga its name passes away


All eyes will be on Proton Holdings Bhd as the national car company plots its return to the top with Chinese strategic partner Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co Ltd in the driving seat.

SUNGAI PETANI: A retired soldier who coined the moniker, ‘Proton Saga', to win a competition to name the first model of the national car died at his home in Taman Nuri near here on Friday (Jan 12).

Ismail Jaafar was 71.
