A MAN who was caught with a replica pistol, a police uniform and other accessories tried to avoid arrest by claiming he was an officer with the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol), reported Kosmo!.

The 37-year-old suspect was arrested at a condominium in Section 13, Shah Alam, during an early morning raid three days ago.

Shah Alam deputy OCPD Supt Nek Zaidi Zakaria said the items are believed to have been bought via eBay and the man’s contacts.

“Police seized a Walther P99 replica pistol, a holster, 50 training bullets, two badges denoting the rank of inspector and a pair of handcuffs.

“We also seized 58 name cards with the Royal Malaysian Police logo, four name cards with the Interpol logo and 10 police uniform buttons,” he said, adding that the suspect also tested positive for drugs.

The man has been remanded for four days to assist investigations.
