PETALING JAYA: In the aftermath of the landslide in Tanjung Bungah, Penang, Kepong MP Dr Tan Seng Giaw penned a poem that referred to the loss of life in the tragic incident.
The DAP veteran took to Twitter to post the poem, titled Tanah runtuh di lereng bukit (Landslide on the hillslopes) on Sunday (Oct 22) night.
The poem reads:
Ibu jaga anak kan sakit (A mother takes care of her child who is sick),
Darah tubuh beban kesihatan (The blood in the body is a burden to health).
Pemaju bina leretan bukit (Developers build on a row of hills),
Tanah runtuh korban insan (Lives are sacrificed in landslide).
Tan also tweeted the same poem in Jawi.
On Saturday (Oct 21), tonnes of laterite earth slid down from a cut slope at the Tanjung Bungah construction site at about 8.30am and took the lives of 11 construction workers.
