KUANTAN: The remand of a stepfather who allegedly tied his child by the neck to a gas tank was extended by another three days.

Pahang CID chief SAC Othman Nayan said the 32-year-old soldier would be remanded until Thursday to assist in the investigations.

Kuantan police chief Asst Comm Abdul Aziz Salleh said the deputy public prosecutor would decide what action to be taken against the man.

Last Thursday, members of the public noticed the boy chained in his home at Indera Mahkota here and alerted the police. The father was then arrested and remanded five days.

The boy has said his stepfather had chained him as punishment for coming home late from a cyber-cafe.

On Sunday, the boy's biological father visited him and said he was ready to take care of the boy and his two other children.
