Fatal accident on LDP causes morning gridlock


The crash between the car and the lorry caused massive traffic jams on LDP and surrounding roads

PETALING JAYA: A fatal accident on Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP) early Wednesday morning caused massive jams in several locations around the Klang Valley.

In the accident, the victim identified as 28-year-old Lim Ji Qin was a passenger in a car that collided with a lorry at around 6.40am.

The driver of the car suffered injuries while the lorry driver escaped unhurt.

The Puchong Fire and Rescue Department, which arrived at the scene at 6.51am, found that the victim had died on the spot.

Star Media Traffic reported that the accident has caused massive jams around Pusat Bandar Puchong-Setiawalk, Kelana Jaya and Bukit Puchong.

Traffic was also at a crawl from Sri Petaling and Kota Kemuning, and Bukit Jalil Highway from Technology Park Malaysia.

As of 11am, the accident scene has been fully cleared and traffic is now almost back to normal.
