Fire destroys Wangsa Maju car workshop


KUALA LUMPUR: A car workshop was razed in a fire at Seksyen 1 in Wangsa Maju early Saturday.

City Fire and Rescue Department operations room chief Zamani Ismail said they were alerted about the fire at about 2.05am.

Over 70 firemen from the Wangsa Maju, Hang Tuah, Setapak, Keramat and Sri Hartamas stations arrived at the scene at about 2.18am.

The fire was brought under control at about 3.45am.

The workshop, which dealt with half-cut cars, was completely razed. An office of a car service centre was also damaged.
