Fisherman rescued after five days at sea


PETALING JAYA: A 32-year-old fisherman was rescued 24 nautical miles north-west of Pulau Tioman five days after he was reported missing at sea.

A source told The Star that the man, identified as Mohd Saifudin Mamat from Endau, Rompin, was rescued by a Malaysian fisherman at 3.30pm Wednesday before being tracked down by the Royal Malaysian Navy’s (RMN) search and rescue team via the “Bertanya Khabar” initiative.
