GEORGE TOWN: Thousands of people were late for work after flash floods hit several areas in Bayan Baru and Sungai Ara on Penang island Friday.
Traffic came almost to a standstill on several roads along the free trade zone areas in Bayan Lepas, Paya Terubong and Bandar Baru Air Itam after the rain, which started at 3am, caused drains to overflow.
